Short bio
Emmanuel Masini received his Ph.D. in Geology from the University of Strasbourg
Emmanuel received his Ph.D. in 2011 at the University of Strasbourg (France) focused on tectonics and sedimentary processes of rifting and oceanization archived within the Alps, Pyrenees and California.
In 2011 he obtained a post-doctoral position within an academic-industry research consortium on rifted margins (Margin Modelling Phase 3).
In 2013 he joined the structural department of Total SA where his challenge was to integrate the observed variability of rifted margins offshore into the geological models of the company as well as into the exploration workflows. In 2015 he moved to the research department of Total SA where he took the leadership of a still ongoing large industry-academic research program, the OROGEN project, the main aim of which is to investigate the reactivation of rifts and rifted margins during orogenesis.
In 2018 he created M&U sasu, a R&D and consulting company, as well as joined the ISTerre Geosciences institute at the University of Grenoble (France) in 2019.
