Maxime Ducoux – Researcher & Consultant @ M&U sasu
“As a researcher and consultant at M&U sasu, his objective is to investigate the geological record of early inverted rifted margins using field observations“
Short Bio
Maxime joined M&U sasu in January 2020 after finishing a post-doctoral position within the OROGEN project financed by Total R&D and the University of Pau et des Pays de l’Adour (France).
In 2017 he received his Ph.D. at the University of Orléans (France) focused on the structure and thermicity of the internal metamorphic zone of the Pyrenean belt. He used field data and an analytical method (Raman Spectroscopy of Carbonaceous Material) to constrain the geodynamic evolution as well as to integrate the understanding of a rift system within an orogenic belt.
In 2018 he started a post-doctoral position within the OROGEN project, whose aim was to better understand the geological record of an early inverted rifted margin and its fate within an orogenic system (Pyrenees) using field observations and seismic interpretations.
Maxime holds a bachelor’s in geology, a master’s degrees in structural geology / geodynamics from the University of Orléans (France) and a master’s degrees in exploration and management of resources from the University of Québec at Montréal (UQAM, Canada).
